Home Newborn and Family Session

Welcome earthside, Jagger.

His arrival was celebrated with an in home lifestyle session, surrounded by the love of his siblings and parents.

If you needed a sign to do an in home lifestyle session..... Here you go!

It doesnt require a perfectly manicured home, or perfectly behaved children.

I truly love these sessions, especially for large families with small children. They are so genuine and relaxed. I get to start out playing with the kiddos in their own familiar space. The stress of preparing kiddos for a session is less present. It's less about being in front of the camera , and more about just "being." It allows me to peek into the little windows of your life, and capture your story. The little everyday things; habits, expressions and mannerisms, they are so small, so fleeting, yet so special, and I am so honored to be able to make them last forever.

Sweet Studio Family Session

One thing I absolutely adore about photographing families is witnessing their growth. From the sweet birth announcements, to the regal maternity portraits, and then sweet little moments with a growing toddler. This Mama reached out to me to follow up on her membership package that included a one year family mini-session followed by a cake smash for sweet little “W.”

March brings beautiful sunny reminders of the upcoming summer, yet also sneaks in dreary downpours and sporadic frigid cold days to Eastern Virginia, so we played it safe and planned this session in the beautiful studio. It enabled sweet, endearing moments for W to safely explore his surroundings with the vivaciousness only a toddler has. Happy Birthday Little Man! Checkout the baby blues on this little guy!

Rogers Family at Maymont

Jennifer contacted me for a family session with the very strong warning of ”My child is impossible! You need to know what you’re getting into!” I found this so amusing- this poor mom! I assured her there was no reason to stress. I do pose- lighty, but embrace natural interactions and expressions.
This session is the perfect example that perfect children who love posing (is there really such a thing?) are not needed to make a great family photo- no tears involved! Did I get my steps in this day? Yes. Did the session turn out amazing? YES!! I mean, how cute is this family!

This sweet girl right here- wild and curious, energetic, sitting still was close to impossible for her. She wanted nothing to do with my camera! But when Mom and Dad embraced, she ran up and put their hands together. My heart melted.

This is NOT the most perfect image. But this is a story of LIFE. The little kiddo’s hand reaching up for Mom and Dad, tells more of a story than a perfectly posed image ever could. I had to include it!
